Jeffrey C. Lightcap, Senior Managing Director, founded HealthCor Partners in 2008. Prior to joining HealthCor Partners, Mr. Lightcap was a Senior Managing Director at JLL Partners, a leading middle-market private equity fund, from 1997 to mid-2006. Prior to JLL Partners, Mr. Lightcap was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. ("Merrill Lynch") in charge of leverage buyout coverage for Merrill Lynch's mergers and acquisitions group. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Lightcap was a Senior Vice President in the mergers and acquisitions group at Kidder, Peabody & Co. and briefly at Salomon Brothers.

Mr. Lightcap received a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York in 1981 and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1985.

Mr. Lightcap serves on the board of directors of a number of companies, including Iasis Healthcare Corporation, Paradigm Spine, Practice Partners in Healthcare, Corindus, CareView Communications, and HeartFlow.  Previously, Mr. Lightcap served on the board of directors of AccessClosure (acquired by Cardinal Health), Sadra Medical (acquired by Boston Scientific), in addition to service on other private company boards.

Michael Y. Mashaal, M.D., Managing Director, also a Founding Partner of HealthCor Partners, joined HealthCor Group in September 2005. Prior to joining the private equity team in 2007, Dr. Mashaal was a Senior Research Analyst focused on biotechnology for the HealthCor Group from 2005 to 2007. Previously, from 2000 to 2005, Dr. Mashaal served as a Research Analyst focused on healthcare and biotechnology for several large institutional investment firms.

Dr. Mashaal graduated from Emory University in 1994 with a B.A. in Biology. After receiving an M.D. at State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine in 1998, Dr. Mashaal trained in general surgery at the University Hospital at Stony Brook from 1998 to 1999.

Dr. Mashaal currently serves on the board of directors of Corindus and ReShape Medical and also serves as a board observer of HeartFlow and Paradigm Spine. Previously, Dr. Mashaal served on the board of directors of Apatech (acquired by Baxter) and Velcera (acquired by Perrigo), served as a board observer of Natera, in addition to service on other private company boards.

Ed Ross, Associate, joined HealthCor Partners in September 2012. Prior to HealthCor, Ed was an analyst with Baltimore-based Moag & Company, a boutique investment bank focused on the sports industry.

Mr. Ross graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010 with a B.S. in Business Administration.

Richard Woo, Associate, joined HealthCor Partners in August 2015. Prior to HealthCor, Richard was an investment banking analyst in the healthcare group at J.P. Morgan.

Mr. Woo graduated from Rice University in 2013 with a B.A. in Mathematical Economic Analysis.

Elizabeth Miller, Operations Associate, joined HealthCor Partners in 2007. Prior to joining the private equity team, Elizabeth was an Associate at HealthCor Management, LP from 2005 to 2007.

Ms. Miller graduated from Union College in 2005 with a B.A. in Psychology.

Lauren Paroulek, Executive Assistant, joined HealthCor Partners in 2015.  Prior to joining HealthCor Partners, Ms. Paroulek served operational roles at several corporations.

Ms. Paroulek received a B.A. in Communication Disorders from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2009 and a Master's Degree in Library and Information Studies from the City University of New York at Queens College in 2012.
